หลังจากงาน WWDC 2014 ที่ทาง Apple ได้เปิดตัว Yosemite ซึ่งหนึ่งในซอฟต์แวร์ ใหม่ที่เป็นจุดเด่นของ OS C Yosemite นั่นก็คือ Photos Apps ที่สามารถทำงานร่วมกับระบบปฏิบัติการ iOS ได้อย่างดีนั่นเอง
มาวันนี้ Apple ก็ได้ประกาศอย่างเป็นทางการแล้วว่าจะเลิกพัฒนา ซอฟต์แวร์แต่งรูประดับมืออาชีพ อย่าง Aperture อย่างถาวรแล้วครับตามข่าวด้านล่าง
“With the introduction of the new Photos app and iCloud Photo Library, enabling you to safely store all of your photos in iCloud and access them from anywhere, there will be no new development of Aperture,” said Apple in a statement provided to The Loop. “When Photos for OS X ships next year, users will be able to migrate their existing Aperture libraries to Photos for OS.”
อย่างไรก็ดี ใช่ว่าเราจะไม่สามารถใช้คุณสมบัติของ Aperture ได้อีกต่อไป จริงๆแล้ว เรายังสามารถใช้ ซอฟต์แวร์ตัวใหม่ที่ชื่อว่า Photos โดย แอพ Photos นี้จะมาทำงานแทน iPhoto และ Aperture ทั้ง 2 ตัว
โดย Aperture เวอร์ชั่นล่าสุดคือ 3.5 เป็นการอับเดทครั้งล่าสุดเมื่อ 22 ตุลาคม 2556 ที่ผ่านมา
